DNI Foundation Honored in Nigeria

Disability Not Inability (DNI) Foundation has been honoured with an Award of Excellence in Charity by The Servants of Charity (Opera Don Guanella) and the Department of Special Education, University of Ibadan in Nigeria.

The award was in recognition of DNI Foundation’s unwavering devotion to the course of humanity and the well-being of persons with special needs and the vulnerable in society.

This award was presented during the Guanella Africa Summit and Public Lecture on Rehabilitation and Inclusive Basic Education.
The event was held under the theme Taming The Wilderness Of Hope: Mainstreaming Inclusive Basic Education Perspectives in the African Development Agenda at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan, Nigeria on 8th May 2024.

Over the past 5 years, DNI Foundation has been supporting persons with diverse forms of disabilities in the areas of education, health, and entrepreneurship to enable them to become self-dependent and positive contributors in their communities rather than liabilities people shun.

In her acceptance speech, the Founder and Executive Director of DNI Foundation, Ms Esther Tibila extended her profound gratitude to the host for organizing such a remarkable summit and for extending an invitation to them.
She also thanked the Board of Trustees especially the Chairman, Professor Peter Atadja for sponsoring the delegate’s trip to Nigeria and the dedicated team at DNI Foundation for their tireless efforts and commitment to the organization’s vision.

She dedicated the award to the Children and Young Adults with special needs whom they serve and charged everyone to join their campaign in fostering inclusive education and equal opportunity for all.
