DNI Foundation celebrates World Menstrual Hygiene Day with PAD4LWD Initiative

DNI Foundation is proud to announce the successful execution of the 2nd Edition of our Pad for Ladies with Disabilities (Pad4LWD) initiative.

In commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we provided a 12-month supply of sanitary pads to 100 girls with special needs at Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center located at Agona Duakwa in the Central Region, Accra Rehabilitation Center located in the Greater Accra Region and St Theresah Vocational Training Center for the Physically Handicapped located in the Volta Region.

This initiative aims to ensure that these incredible young ladies have access to essential hygiene products, promoting health, dignity, wellbeing and empowerment among ladies with disabilities.

Many thanks to everyone who supported this initiative especially Ohhema Sanitary Products, Land Rover Defender Club Ghana, Eagles International Ministries, Vonnyborq Company Limited and all the individuals who contributed. Special thanks to Ghana Federation of Disability Organizations for the partnership.

We are on a campaign to challenge negative stereotypes, myths, discrimination against menstruation and encourage parents, teachers and community leaders to help create awareness and sensitize young ladies before they start menstruating.

Knowledge is key in effective management. We hope to educate as many people as possible about good menstrual hygiene, menstrual disorders, how to use and dispose sanitary products, the female reproductive system among other things.

Join us in this life transformation project.
